Our new Sales Manager for the UK, Ireland, the Benelux countries, plus France and Italy!

Every great career has a story behind it, and for Melis, that story winds through nearly every corner of the print industry, which has now led him to CGS ORIS as one of our new Sales Managers for Europe.

So, we asked Melis to share a bit about his path, his motivations, and what he sees on the horizon as he steps into this new chapter.

Melis, tell us a bit about your background and what brought you to CGS ORIS.

I’ve been on a fantastic journey through the print industry—starting in production, then moving into service, technical sales support, marketing, and for quite some time now, sales. Along the way, I’ve worked for some of the most well-known companies in the business and touched almost every printing segment, from software and equipment to consumables.

CGS ORIS was a name I’d heard for many years, always associated with high-quality, precision color management software. When I discovered that the company’s culture and approach to business aligned closely with my own values, I was immediately interested.

What excites you most about your new role in Sales?

Right now, there’s a huge opportunity in the market to help customers achieve best-in-class color quality while also bringing simplicity, effectiveness, and efficiency to what are often very complex problems in print.

With increased customization, the rise of spot colors, and the shift toward hybrid production environments, color consistency across different techniques has never been more important. That’s exactly where CGS ORIS excels, and I’m looking forward to sharing this expertise with our customers.

What are your goals for your first months at CGS ORIS?

First and foremost, I want to focus on the market and get to know our customers, partners, and of course, my new colleagues. A key goal will be identifying where the gaps and opportunities are and supporting our partners in providing the right solutions to our customers’ challenges.

Which industries or customer segments are you focusing on?

My focus will clearly be on commercial print, particularly the opportunities in hybrid environments. At the same time, CGS ORIS offers a number of unique solutions for the packaging segment—from our extended gamut and CxF software to Real Substrate Proof, which enables customers to create proofs directly on the actual production substrate.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

At one point, I followed my entrepreneurial spirit and started my own business, creating environmental and impact startups. It was an amazing experience—one that left me with a legacy I’m still proud of today.

What’s your first impression of the CGS ORIS team and culture?

The culture here is open and trusting. That atmosphere creates real autonomy, which I believe is an essential part of building a strong organization.

What’s your personal approach to building customer relationships?

Be open. Listen. Understand. Share. And don’t forget to smile and laugh. For me, it’s about building long-lasting, trustful relationships where everyone feels valued.

Is there a quote or mindset that guides your work?

Yes—it’s something I carry with me in both work and life:

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough!”

What does success look like for you in this role?

For me, success means growth—for CGS ORIS, for our customers, for our partners, and for myself. It’s a challenging goal in today’s climate, but it’s definitely something worth aiming for.
