Long launches digital trade house

Australia, 02/17/2016. A new Sydney digital print company is offering businesses in the industry overflow support to meet their digital capacity and delivery requirements.

The Lane Cove based company, named Offset Digital Partner (ODP), is designed to provide trade services to printers struggling to match client demand, offering extra operating muscle with its Xerox iGen4. Owner Howard Long started the business after a 29 year-long tenure in a mailing house, and is dedicating Offset Digital Partner to help printers ‘make it smoothly through disruptive or peak periods’.

Long says the business can assist companies with overflow situations, looming deadlines, high-volume print jobs on sheet sizes up to 660mm in length. He says he knows all too well the pitfalls of running a printing company, and says he offers a cost-saving partnership for print houses. “The iGen4 is an excellent workhorse for long-run jobs and we want to deal with the big guys and help with high-volume production,” says Long. According to Long, ODP invested in Oris colour management software and hardware for quality control and to build profiles that allow closer matching of clients output.

“Colour consistency is important to us, our Xerox iGen4’s daily calibration to ISO 12647-8 standard - ISO Coatedv2/Fogra 39 - is checked using Oris Certified Proof software,” he says.“If you have your own standard or specific press conditions, through the use of Oris Press Matcher software, and an Xrite scanner we can build a profile to match as closely as possible our press to yours”.

Long also asserts the exclusive nature of his business will be a major attraction to the trade. “Offset Digital Partner is the first independent site in NSW to be offering trade work on an iGen” he says. “I want to build relationships with clients and understand their needs.” Long says the print partner has been ‘ready to go’ since its launch in February with a number of clients acquired already, and is able to step in at all stages and print ‘the whole job, part of the job or a component within a job’.
